Franklin Elementary Event - 5/26/22

This event was truly incredible. Due to the fact that we had money donations in addition to equipment, we were able to ask Franklin Elementary exactly what equipment they needed and give it to them! The Sports for Support team were able to provide them with: 

- About 30 Rackets 

- 54 Tennis Balls 

- About 20 Basketballs 

- 2 Baseball Bats

- 7 Baseball Mits

- 18 Baseballs 

- 3 Large Outdoor Wagons 

- 6 Pickball Net Sets

Coach Max, the PE teacher, explained to us how in the 8 years he had worked at Franklin they had not had a full tennis set. Now, since we were able to give them rackets and balls for all the kids in addition to the nets, Franklin Elementary finally can play tennis! 

Also, because we also gave them a full baseball set, they are now able to play baseball with their classes on their field!

The Sports for Support team was able to bring all the sports equipment that was donated during the drives to Verde Elementary School, which is located in a low-income area of Richmond, California. Here, class representatives were able to take their picks in which equipment they wanted to take home! The remaining equipment was donated to the school to be used during physical education classes, so that all the students would have a chance to enjoy the new equipment. 

With this new equipment, Verde Elementary will now be able to teach tennis classes in school, as before they had neither the resources nor the budget to implement tennis into their P.E. classes.
